Does the job

The box claims "Micro free" and that it traps water impurities. Depending on water hardness and how long the humidifier runs, you may get a whole winter season from this or not - I usually do.
Perfect fit for the Lasko humidifier. Towards the end of the season I can eek out another month or two by soaking in a light vinegar solution, followed by a light bleach.
