We have a whole house humidifier and we went one year without using a inline filter. Our HVAC guy told us we really wouldn't need it. However, we ended up buying one the next year and I have to say it did make a difference when cleaning the system at the end of the season. And probably with energy costs since the heating element wasn't as dirty. Helping to maintain your humidifier system is worth it since they are so expensive to beginning with. Small price to pay to extend the system life cycle and reduce energy costs.

Product was received as promised and fit exactly as a replacement to the OEM filter. I would have given it five stars but decided I hadn't yet experienced its effectiveness.

This unit seems like a great alternative for the Factory OEM type of water filter my Honeywell TrueSteam Humidifier came with. Easy install.
