Product itself it fine. At first I thought the price was ridiculously high for one cartridge, but when it arrived I found there are four cartridges in the package -- which it does say in the fine print on this web site, but I failed to see that. So I think the price is okay for four of them. However, I still got it cheaper online from Bed, Bath, and Beyond.

If you have a sharper image humidifier, and you see white dust all over your room, then you need this. Mine came with one of these and it really does work. It basically floats around in the water tank and absorbs minerals. It lasts about four months which, where I live, is about one season. It is a bit overpriced. Its not much bigger than your thumb and yet it's $20. But it's worth it if it works.

I tried another brand at the same time as this one and the other one left a black residue on the bottom of the tank. This one has minimized the pink bacteria build-up tremendously.
